The Intermatic WP7000BR is a low-profile, extra-duty plastic in-use weatherproof cover for single-gang wiring device boxes finished in bronze. The cover mounts in a vertical or horizontal orientation on the device box. An in-use weatherproof cover of this type is installed over an outdoor receptacle, switch, or other wiring device so the device stays covered and protected from rain and moisture while a cord is plugged in and the device remains in use. The extra-duty construction referenced in the product name and vendor description points to a heavier-built plastic hood intended for continued outdoor exposure. Its low-profile design sits closer to the wall than a standard bubble-style cover. Electricians and contractors stock these covers as single-gang box accessories for exterior receptacle and switch installations. The unit measure for this item is each, and it is cataloged by Intermatic under the weatherproof covers product family.
