The Intermatic PX100 is a 100 W pool and spa safety transformer housed in a beige steel enclosure. It takes a 120V input and steps it down to a low-voltage output, listed on the unit as 12, 13, or 14V, to supply pool or spa lighting fixtures that operate at reduced voltage for safety around water. Electricians and pool contractors install a safety transformer like the PX100 between the 120V branch circuit and the low-voltage lighting fixtures in a pool or spa, so the fixtures themselves run at the lower, safer voltage rather than being fed line voltage directly.
