The Intermatic AG48013 is a 3-mode Arrester Guard surge protective device rated for 277/480 VAC single phase service, listed for outdoor installation. This voltage rating is used on services that step down for commercial lighting and equipment loads, and the AG48013 gives an electrician a Type 1 or Type 2 rated option for protecting that service from incoming voltage surges. As with other Arrester Guard units, the Type 1 or Type 2 listing means it can be placed at the service entrance or at a downstream panel.
